Support us through your business or workplace

We Hear You (WHY) provides vital emotional support to children, young people and adults affected by cancer and other life threatening conditions. It's a broad remit, and as one in three people diagnosed with cancer is of working age, it's an issue that affects the majority of workplaces. By supporting WHY, you can be sure your donations support the majority of the wider community, too. As a relatively small, local charity WHY relies heavily on the support of local businesses and there are a number of ways in which you can support us.

You might also be interested in our package of WHYinwork services for employers, including a workplace counselling service, team wellbeing days, consultancy and training days for companies supporting staff affected by a life threatening condition.

Partnering with WHY can help your company achieve its corporate social responsibility objectives and put money back into your local community, as well as providing excellent fundraising and team building opportunities for your staff.

WHY offers a wide range of fun events that staff can get involved in, from regular skydives and overseas treks, to local half marathons, tea parties and much more. Our friendly and energetic staff team will support you with planning, fundraising and publicising your events.

More about charity partnerships

Payroll giving

Making a small regular donation is one of the best ways you can show your support for WHY, as it provides secure and reliable income.

Payroll giving is quick and easy to set up and allows employees to donate monthly to WHY directly from their pay cheques. It enables employers the opportunity to show their support to a cause that they and their staff care about and staff can donate before tax is deducted. This means a £10 a month donation will only cost the staff member £8, if they are a basic tax rate payer. If you have a payroll giving scheme set up already, simply direct staff to click this link to set up their regular donation.

Event sponsorship

Sponsoring a fundraising event means the event could be cost neutral, with proceeds going directly into our services, while boosting your brand awareness, as we'll display your logo on banners, flyers and other materials and thank you through our social media channels. If you could sponsor or part sponsor our events, or make donations of raffle or auction prizes, email us at fundraising@wehearyou.org.uk.

Donate a percentage of profit

An incredibly successful way to fundraise is by donating a percentage of the profit you make on a product or service. Research from Business in the Community shows that 86% of consumers are more likely to buy a product that is associated with a cause or issue and 73% of consumers would switch brands to do this.

Donate a service

Could your business offer in-kind support to WHY? For example, at WHY we receive free IT support from Netitude. Could you help us by printing our Christmas cards or our annual report, or cover the cost of software licences? This type of support is invaluable to WHY and helps us to achieve our goals.

What we can do for you

WHY has an energetic, passionate and friendly team who can visit you at your workplace and support you with your activities. Get involved with one of our in-house events, or come up with your own.

We can provide case studies and quotes from clients that can help you and your staff understand the impact of our partnership. And, of course, you will receive regular fundraising progress updates from us.

Your impact

Our clients regularly refer to us as a lifeline through what can be the darkest time in a person’s life. Many report feeling like they wouldn’t have got through their experience without the help and support of WHY.

You will be helping us to ensure this happens.
