Corporate Giving

We Hear You (WHY) provides vital emotional support to adults, young people and children affected by cancer and other life threatening illnesses. With over 10,000 people diagnosed with cancer alone across the geographical area we work in this is a cause that resonates with staff, clients and customers alike of many businesses in the local community.  As a relatively small, local charity WHY relies heavily on the support of local businesses and there are a number of ways in which you might like to support us.

Partnering with WHY can help your company achieve its corporate social responsibility objectives and flood money back into your local community, as well as providing excellent fundraising and team building opportunities for your staff to get involved in, which in turn can boost team morale.

WHY offers a wide range of fun events that staff can get involved in, from regular skydives and overseas treks, to local half marathons, tea parties and much more. At WHY we have a friendly and energetic staff team who will support you to develop an exciting calendar of events and a communications plan to help maximise the partnership.

Providing an organisation like WHY with a small regular donation is one of the best ways you can show your support, as it provides secure and reliable income.

Payroll giving is quick and easy to set up and allows employees to donate monthly to WHY directly from their pay cheques. It enables employers the opportunity to show their support to a cause that they and their staff care about and it enables to staff to donate before tax is deducted. This means a £10 a month donation will only cost the staff member £8, if they are a basic tax rate payer. If you have a payroll giving scheme set up already, simply direct staff to click this link to set up their regular donation.

Sponsoring a fundraising event not only helps support WHY but can also help your businesses gain a route to market in the local community, boosting brand awareness. WHY hold fundraising events throughout the year and are always looking for local companies to sponsor events or donate raffle or auction prizes.

An incredibly successful way to fundraise is by donating a percentage of the profit you make on a product or service. Research from Business in the Community shows that 86% of consumers are more likely to buy a product that is associated with a cause or issue and 73% of consumers would switch brands to do this.

Many businesses may feel they have a service they can offer that would help and support the work that we do. For example, at WHY we receive free IT support from Netitude and up to £1200 a year worth of printing from Bulk Solutions. This type of support is invaluable to WHY and helps us to achieve our goals.

WHY has an energetic, passionate and friendly team who are willing to visit you at your workplace and who will support you with your activities.

There are exciting events taking place all the time that your company and staff can be involved in and staff can help you come up with ideas of your own.

We can provide you with case studies and quotes from clients that can help you and your staff understand the impact of the partnership we hope to build with you. And, of course, you will receive regular fundraising progress updates from us.

Our clients regularly refer to us as a lifeline through what can be the darkest time in a person’s life. Many report feeling like they wouldn’t have got through their experience without the help and support of WHY.

You will be helping us to ensure this happens.

Supporting a local charity can help you get more involved in your community and can help you provide direct support to the community your company operates in. Supporting a local charity can also enhance your brand greatly and give positive PR. Engaging your staff, clients and customers can encourage team-building and boost employee moral as well as building loyalty to the company.
