The Team

The team at We Hear You are supported by the Director and the Board of Trustees.

Our team of professional counsellors, which includes a number of freelance counsellors not listed here, work across WHY's counselling locations and via our online portal, supporting children, young people and adults affected by cancer or a life threatening condition.

  • I am responsible for developing and implementing the organisation’s strategy. I work closely with the team to support their work and to continually consider how we can improve and enhance the service we provide to clients.

  • My role as Office Manager is really varied, I manage our counsellors’ diaries and our client waiting list. I’m responsible for finances and budget planning. I look after our team from an HR perspective and also keep our policies and procedures up to date.

  • I work alongside our office manager Karen, dealing with telephone and email queries and referrals for counselling, keeping financial records and making sure the back office runs smoothly.

  • Fundraising and Communications Manager
  • I joined the team in April 2016. I manage all our fundraising activities, excluding our trusts and grants programme. I also manage much of our communications alongside other members of the team. Working closely with our Fundraising Officer, a lot of my work involves mobilising the community and local business world to support WHY.

  • I joined the fundraising team in 2014 to focus on writing applications to trusts and foundations for grant funding. I also look after any large donations that come in from philanthropists to help fund our counselling.

  • My role works alongside our Fundraising and Communications Manager engaging with the community to help raise funds to support the work of WHY. I also work with our volunteers to help raise the profile of the charity.

  • I promote WHY's service and our events and activities in the press and through social media. I also work on our print and web publications and make graphics, flyers and posters for events.

  • Volunteer Coordinator
  • I joined WHY in March 2019 as the Volunteer Coordinator, my role is to be responsible for coordinating our existing volunteers as well as recruiting additional volunteers to our organisation. I am part of our fundraising team and work closely with them to help staff our events.
    Volunteering is so important to a community - it brings people together, builds relationships, and improves confidence and knowledge, as well as being highly rewarding!

  • I joined the WHY team in February 2017. I hold clinical responsibility for the counselling and supervision activities and provide leadership and direction to the team of counsellors and clinical supervisors. I am responsible to the Director.

  • I provide counselling and art therapy for children and adults at WHY. I also work in the clinical office team which manages clients and develops new services.

  • I have worked with WHY since April 2014. I work in Frome and Bath counselling children, adolescents and adults.

  • I started working for WHY in November 2017, counselling adults in Trowbridge, and as of April 2018 am counselling in Frome as well as assisting the clinical manager.

  • Since February 2019, I have been offering counselling to children and young people across two schools in our area and also at our Frome office.
