Creative activities

Fresh Arts are running an 'Arts on Referral: Writing for Wellbeing' course online from 8th June 2020 at Southmead Hospital, Bristol, led by poet Claire Williamson. Two further courses are planned for November 2020 and February 2021, which will be face-to-face unless restrictions remain in place.

The Arts on Referral: Writing for Wellbeing programme offers you a safe, creative and enjoyable space in which to:
• Take some time to support your own wellbeing
• Find out how being creative can lead to relaxation and enjoyment
• Meet and share with others in a similar situation to your own

This group will meet weekly between 10am – 12noon during the six week programme. No previous writing experience is required.

Health Connections Mendip
The team at Health Connections Mendip can offer one-to-one appointments for anyone needing guidance about health and exercise. They also hold a comprehensive database of local exercise activities and support groups, including support for people coping with the impact of a stroke, dementia, COPD or bereavement.


Mojo Moves - Rare Species
Mojo Moves online fitness, providing welcome relief from boredom, anxiety, inactivity, social isolation and negativity. Suitable for all ages and abilities, Mojo Moves is a social fitness phenomenon & immersive aerobics dance class brought to you by Rare Species Theatre Company. It combines comedy with a proper workout to great music and theme tunes from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.

Move Dance Feel - online dance sessions 

Move Dance Feel offer dance workshops for women affected by cancer. As well as supporting general health through the physicality of dance; this experience is all about evoking curiosity, and offering the tools you need to reconnect and reinvent. The project uses the power of dance and movement to build a real sense of community, whilst offering a creative outlay that helps us ladies to reconnect with our bodies – whether just been diagnosed, undergoing treatment or post-treatment. Community, artistry and physicality are core components of Move Dance Feel…offering an effective means of improving, and maintaining, our individual and collective wellbeing. Our mission? To help you re-connect with yourself and a sense of identity; through a shared joyful experience with others.

RESTORE aims to support people living with cancer related fatigue. It provides information about things you can do to help you cope with fatigue. It can also give you more confidence to manage your fatigue. More information about RESTORE.

Penny Brohn UK - Bristol area - Bristol-based charity providing holistic care, support and resources for people affected by cancer.
