WHYtogether offers a safe and supportive space for couples, and other pairs of adults, family members or close friends, who would like to be able to talk together about the impact of cancer or a life-threatening condition on their relationship. Clients may have been impacted directly by cancer, or a life-threatening condition, themselves or be bereaved through cancer, or a life-threatening condition, and wish to talk through the effect of this on their relationship. The counsellors are all trained couples/relationship counsellors

Clients are offered up to sixteen sessions with a review at session six. After WHYtogether sessions have finished clients may then access any of our other services should they wish to.

Clients are expected to attend all sessions together.

The focus of the work will be on the relationship between the couple, family members, or close friends, and the impact of cancer, a life threatening condition, or bereavement on their relationship.

Couples, family members or close friends, will be supported to talk openly with one another and to explore issues that they may be struggling with and to find ways to support one another through their cancer or bereavement journey.

Couples and family members will be supported to recognise that they will each have their own personal, unique experience of cancer and bereavement and living with it, whilst also sharing some common bonds around the challenges of coming to terms with their current situation.

Sessions are available online through Zoom, and face to face in Bath, Chippenham, Frome, Yeovil and Bradford-on-Avon.

Interested clients can phone the WHY office on 01373 455255 or email info@wehearyou.org.uk to register their interest and an initial telephone appointment will be made for them to speak together to a counsellor about their situation. After this they will be contacted with a suitable appointment venue, day and time, in due course.
