WHY Winter Wonderland at Orchardleigh Estate

Frome-based counselling charity We Hear You (WHY) are holding a ‘WHY Winter Wonderland’ party on Saturday 10th November at the Walled Garden, Orchardleigh Estate.

Gemma Wilkes, Fundraising and Communications Manager at We Hear You, says ‘This year, we wanted to host a more informal party with a lower ticket price to attract a new audience. The annual ball is such a fantastic event but we’ve had feedback from some supporters that it’s a bit too formal for their taste and they’d like something more relaxed – and a bit cheaper! In response we’ve created a ‘winter wonderland’ party featuring the same stunning venue, beautiful food and great entertainment, but guests pay just £30 and won’t feel out of place if black tie isn’t their style. Those people who love to get dressed up and have an evening full of glitz and glamour don’t need to wait too long as we’re already planning a truly spectacular ball for our 25th anniversary in 2019.’

‘The evening begins with a drinks reception with musical entertainment provided by students from Matravers School in Westbury, where We Hear provide an in-school counselling service. This is followed by a buffet meal prepared by the chefs at Orchardleigh and desserts donated by Marston Foods. There will be a fun casino provided by Jamie of Fun Casino Fun, pic ‘n’ mix and ‘pimp your prosecco’ stands, a raffle and a charity auction and a DJ will keep everyone dancing till late. As always, the money raised will help individuals and their families and friends affected by a life threatening diagnosis in Somerset, BANES and Wiltshire.’
