Cancer counselling charity We Hear You (WHY) is holding a volunteer welcome evening at the Victoria Club in Street on 19th September from 6.30pm to 8pm, following the recruitment of a new volunteer team in the area. Volunteer Coordinator for We Hear You, Lottie Ardeshir, will be hosting the event:

“WHY are delighted to have new volunteers in Street and we look forward to bringing them together and sharing all the ways that people can get involved. WHY has services all over Somerset, BANES and Wiltshire and our service in Street has operated since 2016, but we’re not as well known in this part of Somerset, so it’s fantastic to have a team who can help spread the word and raise our profile here with fundraising events and activities.”

“Volunteering for WHY doesn’t have to be a big time commitment. From bucket collections and manning event stands to packing up our Christmas cards, providing admin support or lending your skills in another way, and from a couple of ad hoc hours a month to a regular commitment, we can find you something to do and you can make friends, maybe gain new skills and know that you’re making a real difference for people in your community who are coping with the emotional impact of a life threatening condition such as cancer.”

The volunteer welcome evening is on 19th September 2019 at the Victoria Club in Street from 6.30 to 8pm. Please register your attendance via the Facebook event at https://www.facebook.com/events/503798390183989/.
