We Hear You - a poem

This is a poem written by a client who is undergoing continuous monitoring for smouldering myeloma.

She wrote this after going through life changing events and continues to write poetry often.

We Hear You

And you heard me

Made me feel safe

A gift, a real gift

I was heard

My story overflowing

Through tears, frustration, anger, joy and laughter

Coming to terms with

All the changes that are happening

Walking into this new season

Feeling free to allow this to happen

Letting the freeze thaw

Facing the fear and not running away

Finding acceptance

Of past hurts

Of past dark days

Of past pain

Current Challenges

Feeling free

Free of the chains

That held me down

Free to dance in the sun

Free to be me

The Journey

Continues

Into a place of healing

Into further acceptance

Into that place where

I can comfortably say

I am enough

I am who I am

I am loved

I am accepted

Ok, its me who needs to listen

To me

To many “ME’s”

Who make up the me I am today

You heard with compassion

Your heard without judgement

You heard with kindness

You created a safe place

You heard my story

Believed my story

Allowed me to be me

You heard me

I was brave

Thank you.
